"The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge."
[Psalms 19:1-2]

POINT OF VIEW: The success of science (i.e. of the scientific method) to allow humans to progressively discover the laws of nature is not an improbable accident, but reveals the trustworthiness and beneficence of the Creator.  Rather than as an opponent of religion or as a barrier to faith, science can enhance belief in God and growth of a maturing Christian faith. Some other believers have said:

“Be praised, my Lord, through all your creatures,
especially through my lord Brother Sun, who brings the day;
and you give light through him.
And he is beautiful and radiant in all his splendor!
Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness.

Be praised, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars;

in the heavens you have made them, precious and beautiful."

-- St. Francis of Assisi

"We must accept what science tells us, that man was born from the earth.
But, more logical than the scientists who lecture us,
we must carry this lesson to its conclusion: that is to say,
accept that man was born entirely from the world --
not only his flesh and bones but his incredible power of thought."

-- Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

"I believe God did intend, in giving us intelligence,
to give us the opportunity to investigate and appreciate
the wonders of His creation.
He is not threatened by our scientific adventures."
